Learn About Your New Jersey Lemon Law Rights
What is the lemon law in NJ? The New Jersey Lemon Law applies to anyone who buys, leases or registers a new car or motorcycle in New Jersey. The term of protection is 24,000 miles or two (2) years from the original date of delivery, whichever comes first. The law also covers authorized emergency vehicles and motor homes, except for the living quarters of the motor home. If you purchased or leased your vehicle used but it is still under 24,000 miles and under two years from the date of original delivery, you may still qualify under the New Car Lemon Law.
To qualify for relief under the New Car Lemon Law, the defect must substantially impair the use, value or safety of your vehicle, or be a serious safety defect likely to cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven.

¿Qué pasa con la Ley Federal Lemon?
Even if your repair history does not satisfy the lemon law, our New Jersey lemon law attorneys can assess if your car’s repair history is sufficient to qualify you for damages under the federal lemon law known as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This law requires that your vehicle be presented for repeated repairs. This is a very effective law that helps provide consumers with money damages and sometimes repurchase or replacement relief when the New Jersey lemon law for cars may not apply.
Our New Jersey Lemon Law attorney will evaluate your situation free of charge and advise you on whether you may qualify for relief under the New Jersey Lemon Law. If you do not meet the requirements of the New Jersey Auto Lemon Law, you may still be entitled to relief under a federal lemon law called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. You have lots of options so take a moment to tell us your problem and we’ll tell you how we can help.
The state of New Jersey lemon law and other laws cited above require the manufacturer to pay your attorney fees. Therefore, any advice or actual representation that our New Jersey lemon law attorneys provide to our clients will be done at no charge to you.

New Jersey consumers are also able to utilize the federal lemon law or Ley de Garantía Magnuson-Moss to obtain assistance if the defects with their car do not strictly comply with the New Jersey lemon law. This federal law requires manufacturers to compensate consumers of defective products when the warranty is ineffective. We will be able to inform you whether your car’s defects qualify you for assistance under this law.
Regardless of under what legal basis we determine that we may be able to provide assistance, we will always seek payment of our attorney fees from the manufacturer, and therefore, there is no charge to you for our services. Please do not hesitate to contact us concerning any questions you have about the Nevada lemon law or other applicable lemon laws. Our attorney will provide free advice to any of your questions.
